The installation of a decorative carved window surround as part of a town house conversion near Cardiff, Wales.
The delicate shape of the head and crisp details of the carving meant a careful approach was required whilst fixing this surround.
Once the Cill and jambs were in place we gently lifted the head into place using padded straps connected to a block and tackle. We could then very carefully slide the large mullion into place before checking the alignment of all the mouldings and pointing in natural lime mortar.
